Paleo Pesto Sauce

I know it might sound strange, but the sauce is hands-down my favorite part of any meal if done correctly. I feel like it can totally make or break a meal, but if you find the right sauce, it just makes everything better.

Pesto is no exception – I love it! This version below is even better, because it’s Paleo-friendly and still pretty easy to make.

Paleo Pesto Sauce

  • 1 cup raw shelled walnuts
  • 3 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach leaves
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2/3 cup light flavored olive oil
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp salt you can adjust to your taste


  1. Add all of the pesto ingredients to a high speed blender or food processor and process/blend on high speed until a "paste" forms, stopping to scrape the sides and stir once or twice for even blending. (It took me a few tries with the blender, so don't get discouraged if the leaves don't blend easily right away) Store the pesto in a covered container/jar in the refrigerator for up to one week.
